hi everyone , I know I disappeared recently and went severely MIA but I’m back now and I’m going to be a lot more active on here. anyway back to the topic of this weeks topic school stress aka tests, mental health struggles and how to cope.
I have always struggled to maintain a healthy mental state while going through exams and prelims in school with the overwhelming stress and worrying. anxiously waiting to know the fate of future with these numbered results that decide if you qualify to pass. I have struggled with my mental health for a while now but over the last few years it has got worse and got better overall its a progression I’m slowly figuring out, a puzzle or riddle I still have to finish or solve. Depressive episodes during these times are extremely normal and its also normal to not know how to cope and I understand when schools don’t offer enough sympathy or support for you during times like these.
fear. the fear of not knowing what is going to happen in the future. fear if you don’t make it to where you want to in your later career or if you’ll be able to maintain a lifestyle for yourself without the help of others or depending on others claiming your own independence and wearing it like a crown. the way I see fear is if you have experienced it you cant fear it was you haven’t known how it feel or seems to be scared of it, so in other words don’t stress about failing if you haven’t failed yet don’t overthink it, search and high and low for the worst outcome search for a good one.
when studying I love to listen to some good music to help block out all my troubles and if you would like I can create a Spotify playlist for studying if you would be interested in that. I also like to make flash cards and mind maps or spider diagrams depends on which u call them I call them sky maps sometimes cause I always do them as clouds as they calm me down and it helps me concentrate on what I am trying to do or write per say. I also find it good to read some good books and detach yourself from the stress of school by spending a bit of time from the bore that is school to cheer yourself up and lift you sprits of the floor. I love myself to read and write I love to personally write my own tales as I have a wildly free based imagination that I sometimes have trouble taming but I think I’m going to start posting on here and maybe some other platform to get it Widley out there.
anyway back to what I was saying I am currently reading coralline for the 100th time but that’s more of a beginners book there are millions out there it just depends on your own preference of genre that you like to read. I also like Jekyll and Hyde or great Gatsby and books along that line. I’ve posted a post before this one about movie suggestions I recently got into harry potter which I didn’t like for so long but found comfort in it and started to enjoy it, I also love marvel movies as well age of Ultron is my personal favourite but I love all them so much so its hard to choose. I also love a good documentary like David Attenborough’s recent one is really good on Netflix if you would want to check that out. i enjoyed the new season of the crown and sex education etc if your also into anything like them.
I could go on for ages and ages like a parrot but the conclusion of this all is don’t over think and stress your results and don’t look into your own future too hard cause in the end everything will play out how its supposed too. please make sure you make time for you’re own mental health as I know how hard it is to have an overcrowded train of thoughts pushing you to the walls and treating you like you aren’t important but you are important and I cant stress that enough. this year has been all over the place and don’t forget you aren’t alone and people do care about you and love you.
I’m gonna go for today but I might post a short story next time if you are interested in that but if there is anything in particular you would like me to post about I would love to do so.
until next time x
